When interviewing an agent, understand what services they offer and what services you are interested in. The following questions are designed to tell you if the agent is taking the listing for reasons other than getting your property SOLD!
- Do you work as a full time REALTOR®?
- Do you have a full time assistant or team?
- In what area and in what aspect of the market do you specialize?
- Do you have a written marketing plan specifically designed to sell my home?
- Do you attend local, state and national REALTOR® meetings? How often?
- How often do you market properties directly to buyers and how?
- How many homes have you sold in the last year?
- Will you produce a professional flyer for my home including photos?
- Do you have a written business plan and mission statement?
- How often will I hear from you after my home is listed with you? May I cancel the listing if I don't hear from you on a scheduled basis?
- What software do you use when tracking the marketing of my home?
- How often do you find potential buyers? Do you have a system to identify potential buyers?
- What other marketing techniques will you use to get my property sold?
- In what ways do you encourage other real estate agents to sell my property? How do you network? Do you work with affiliates? RS Council, ABR Affiliates?
- What can I do to help sell my property?
- How many listings do you have? What percentages of them sell? In the past?
- Do you have an internal marketing plan?
- Do you have a personal Web site? If so, what is the address?
- Do you have a permanent e-mail address?
- What presence have you developed through your marketing?
- Does your company have a Web site? If so, what is the address?
- What does your Web site link to?
- Do you have listings on Realtor.com?
- Do you have a Realtor.com home page? If so, does it link to your home page?
- Do you have a list of references that can be contacted?
- What automated communication tools do you use for 24-hour access or service?
- Do you maintain a database of qualified buyers?
